Welcome to the community! We’re excited to have you join as a Community Organizer, which is one of the most important roles that ensures that our community feels like a great place for people to build amazing Igbo technology together.

Role Responsibilities

Being a Community Organizer means that you are responsible for establishing and maintaining a vibrant community. For instance you will be doing things like:

• Welcoming new members in the #introductions and #general channels in Slack
• Creating game nights and online-friendly social events for people to get to know each
• Updating our Nkọwa okwu Volunteer Getting Started Guide website so it’s easier for both new and experienced members to navigate
• Periodically interview and survey community members on Google Meet calls to get direct feedback on how to improve the community
• Working with designers to create Happy Birthday posts for social media to celebrate community members

Step 3: Request Access to Main Volunteer List

We have a list of all members who have signed up to join our community. This list will be particularly helpful so you know what role a new member has signed up with or when’s their birthday so you can help us celebrate them.
