This document will breakdown the pay-as-you-work structure that will be used for the Lacuna Fund Extension project
The Lacuna Fund Extension project uses a pay-as-you-work payment structure because it provides the following benefits:
It is expected that audio recorders are expected to complete the following amount of work to be paid at least $100 for the month:
Legacy work eligible for payment: Initially, when this project started in November 2023, we stated that verified merged audio was only considered as valid work to be paid for. However, we received quite a bit of comments, feedback, and even bugs on the Igbo API Editor Platform that suggested that this wasn’t the best approach for fairly paying the team.
We have since updated our metric of how to pay individual team members for fair compensation.
Audio recorders will be paid for the total amount of audio they record and review on the platform. This means there’s a unit price for each recorded audio and reviewed audio that an audio recorder collect over time.
This means the stats in the Igbo Soundbox Contributions section are the stats that will only be used to determine how much a contributor should be paid.
This also means the Monthly merged recorded audio section will no longer be used at all to determine how much a contributor should be paid.
Audio recorders will be paid on a monthly basis and will be paid for the total amount of work they have completed for the previous month.
For example, if an audio recorder started working on the project November 1, they will be paid for all the work they completed in the entire month of November by December 1-3. (Payment day is a range to account for weekends, holidays, or transaction limits applied by banks and payment services used for this project)
