Creating more technical content for Nkọwa okwu and other products is one of the most beneficial ways we can get our name out to more Igbo people around the world while educating developers on how to use our products.

As a technical or content writer, you will be responsible for writing various kinds of documentation alongside the Technical Writing team.

About the Role

The Igbo API Technical Writing team collaborates with developers, product managers, and the community to develop product documentation. Well-written documentation accommodates the evolving need of all Igbo API clients, users, and administrators. It educates readers on features and best practices.

Responsibilities

The Technical and Content Writing team is broadly responsible for both developing various types of content and documentation for both external and internal developers and stakeholders. The team is also responsible for educating and helping other teammates in developing content and docs.

You will be a part of the team responsible for the following:

• Creating and maintaining documents for a variety of technical projects.
• Creating new content on occasion to fulfill the demands of the community.
• Analyze complex concepts and capabilities and translate them into clear, easy-to-understand texts with well-defined and deliberate information architecture.
• Reviewing and collaborating on documentation strategies, reviewing doc merge requests or newly merged docs, and verifying that material adheres to style and language guidelines.
• Reorganizing, redesigning, and creating better documentation to ensure completeness and a pleasant user experience.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

• Fluent English speaker.
• Experience with SEO and content writing.
• Consistent stable internet connection (has access to the Internet at all times, especially during American East Cost business hours).
• Experience (or willingness to learn) how to use Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Meet + Notion.
• An ability to define a self-structure and schedule for completing a certain amount of work.
• 2 to 10 hours per week to volunteer.
