This guide will clarify to you how to successfully have a word edited and have it marked as a Complete word. According to the Editing Standards Doc, a complete word is a word that has all of its descriptions input as accurately as possible. In this document, you will learn the right way to think about words and their descriptions to edit correctly.

- [ ] Log in to Nkọwa Okwu.
- [ ] Stay on your Dashboard.
- [ ] Click on “Words” on the top left list.
- [ ] Select “Suggest New Edit” from the drop-down menu on the far right of the row that has the word you wish to work on.
- [ ] Read the definition of the word to confirm what was intended for the word.
- [ ] Confirm that the definition matches the “Headword” in your understanding.
- [ ] Listen to the audio recording to confirm that it sounds like what you see in Headword and read in Definition.
- [ ] Confirm that the “Headword” is Standard Igbo.
- For now, we use these as Standard Igbo:
- [ ] Confirm that the Part Of Speech selected for the Headword is correct.
- See Part Of Speech doc.
- If not, select the right Part Of Speech for the word.
- [ ] Input in “Definitions” straight forward, very summarized, preferably a single English word that explains the headword. Keep your explanation in the same Part Of Speech as the headword, especially for non Noun or Name words.
- Examples:
- [ ] Input in “Spelling Variations” any different standard Igbo spelling, for the headword, that you know is/can be used for the word. If there is none, please skip.
- [ ] Input in “Word Stems” each of the words that make up the Headword.
- [ ] Input in “Synonyms”, words that are similar to the headword.
