Voice-over recording is an increasingly important role within our community. Our translators do an amazing job properly cataloging our database of words. One piece of information that we also want to catalog is audio pronunciations. As a voice-over recorder, you take on the responsibility of recording audio pronunciations for all our headwords and dialects in the database.

This word has a recording, because it has a green 'Play' button

Step 4: Your Task: Start Recording Audio

  1. Go to the 'Words' tab and go through each of the words in the database. You can click on the 'View' option for a word document to see its Show View
  2. If there is no audio recording to listen to, record a new audio recording. If there is an audio recording, go back to the first step in this list
  3. Once you've submitted your audio recording, double-check that it was successfully recorded by playing the audio back in the show view.
  4. Depending on your User Permission Level, you will take different steps
    1. If you're an Editor, you won't have the ability to merge word suggestions. So you can approve your new word suggestion document and move back to the first step in this list.
    2. If you're a Merger, then you can merge the document and move back to the first step in this list.
